These warm felt slippers made with wool were created by a collective of women who live in the mountainous region of formerly Soviet Georgia using the ancient Georgian craft of felting. The Georgian Textile Group was formed to promote a revival of traditional Georgian textile crafts (felt, embroidery, silk) and to provide a source of income for women living in poverty in the mountainous regions.
